Our Downtown

As the owner of Ross Discount, a member of the Central Business District Alliance and a citizen of Highland Park, I have come to appreciate the work Councilman Jim Kirsch has done to make our downtown a better place to dine, shop and just be.

For example, Jim’s work with the Alliance, as the elected Chairperson of the Organization, has prompted downtown property owners to invest in marketing our city’s attributes, which drives business giving us more sales tax revenue. When this happens, our property taxes are lower.

Jim is a steady, strong and intelligent advocate for all those who live, work and visit Highland Park. His civic involvement and thoughtful perspectives are tremendous assets to our community.

Jim Kirsch’s leadership on the city council has helped downtown Highland Park grow and kept our property taxes lower. We all owe him a big thank you for the work he has done for us. Thank you, Jim.
